EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council
In 1988 EAA established a group of senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiners (AME's), all EAA members, to serve as a reservoir of aeromedical expertise to EAA. The group, called the Aeromedical Advisory Council, is made up of highly qualified doctors, all with a vast amount of aeromedical aviation expertise. Meeting every year during AirVenture, the Council reviews the current trends within the aviation medical divisions of the FAA, how those trends will affect EAA members, and what EAA can do to assist members to work with these trends.
The EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council provides oversight, guidance, and assistance for EAA’s Aeromedical Advisory Program, who act as advocates for EAA members to resolve their specific FAA medical certification issues.
During AirVenture the EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council coordinates several aeromedical forums for the benefit of all EAA members.
Current EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council members: Dr. Jack Hastings (Chairman), Dr. Richard Garrison, Dr. Stephen Leonard, Dr. John Owen, and Dr. Gregory Pinnell.
The EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council activities are coordinated through the EAA Aviation Services Department, at 888-EAAINFO (322-4636), extension 6112.
